~*gUrL TaLk~*

Oh yes. This update is primarily for Jason, but as we all know and love spectacular dance music I thought I had to put it out there for everyone.

Check this out: LINKY LINKY LINK LINK LINK

The wikipedia entry for Feed The Animals, the album by Girl Talk. To be honest I think this is pretty immense. It features an entire list of all songs mixed into each track, and get this, like In Rainbows its completely free to download.

Get it HERE

Let me know what you think.

The best thing I've heard today.

Upon the discussion of certain dramas (not pertaining to myself, but involving the interpersonal relationships of some friends of mine) in front of a new member of the LGBT, she piped up:

"Wait, are these real people or are you talking about a soap opera?"

I can't help but agree that this is a most astute observation of the current climate in my social circle.

Socialism and the Evolution of Technology?

I watched an interesting talk on TED.com. It was about the future of the net and it ended on this interestingly socialistic message:

There is only One Machine.
And the web is its OS.
All screens look into the One.
No bits will live outside the web.
To share is to gain.
Let the One read it.
The One is Us.

My Amanda Palmer Nirvana!

To steal Jason's title, but for serious, its too good not to.

She. Was. Fucking. Amazing.

I can't believe this weekend. I guess I'll start at the top.

So we went to the meeting house square get-together on Friday to see Amanda Palmer. If you are not familar, she's the singer/writer/pianist with The Dresden Dolls. It was fun, she sang and played the ukelele. I got a book, and my fringe badge signed and it was all good. But then Nate happened. He's from San Fran, and i dunno what it is, but it slike Americans have this shared identity or something, and they got talking and he invited her to dinner. It progressed and they chatted and stuff and in the end Nate and I ended up making dinner fo rAmada Palmer and her crew for during their break before the show starts.

I know. What the fuck?

Fast forward to earlier today and we are sitting having dinner with Amanda Fucking Palmer! It was the best. We chatted, laughed and hung out. She enjoyed the food we made and it was fantastic. We got guest passes which made us better than the plebs, and now we have her email address and everything. I guess we are friends or something?

The show itself was fucking deadly, the right blend of hard and soft, serious and playful, and new and old songs. She has suck charisma, daring and grace.

She also did a shout-out to me and Nate from the stage.

I think I'm on a high or something.

Edinburgh FRINGE: Retrospective.

So we went to see the Tiger Lillies in the Spiegeltent. It was pretty fucking awesome, a very dark punk cabaret-esque band. They were accompanied by Nathan Evans ( a very cute puppeteer and oboe-ist) and Ophelia Bitz (hilarious rubenesque mime).

I enjoyed it immensely. They did a set based on the Seven Deadly Sins. Each sin had a song and a little punch and Jude (Jude replaced Judy, the puppet had Julain Clary's voice and they were a queer couple, of course) storyline point to accompany it, which made for an entertaining evenings worth of a show. I bought a T-shirt from the band to support them.

Of course, that song "Lust" was made for me according to Ronan and Nate, and who am I to fight against it.

The evening leading up to that was hilarious, as Ronan and I only spoke in our Valley girl impressions for the entire night, and it didn't matter to whom we spoke. Waiters, waitresses, people on the street... Nate was renamed manuel for the night and we spoke with barely restrained condescension to everyone. It was fantastic.

Overall, I had an amazing time in Edinburgh. It is a beautiful city, populated with history, culture, friendly people and HAWT men. I'm going back in October, hopefully.
